Home to a diverse dining scene and host of hundreds of national and local music performances, Chicago continues to be a hub of activity every night.  You'll find dozens of jazz clubs, lounges, dance clubs and sports bars scattered around the Windy City, and there's always a great party to toast to.  Whether you're on in the mood for a relaxing evening of jazz and drinks, or want to show off some moves on the dance floor, here's where you'll find some of Chicago's best nightclubs and bars:

Jazz Clubs and Lounges in Chicago, Illinois

Chicago is home to a number of Blues legends and jazz greats, and you'll find plenty of historic lounges and jazz clubs throughout the city. The Jazz Showcase is a popular venue in the historic Dearborn Station building at 806 S. Plymouth Court.  You can settle in for a matinee show or enjoy a diner package; the venue has been hosting live jazz concerts since 1947, and continues to be a popular destination for locals and travelers alike.

Head to Andy's Jazz Club for the latest lineup of Chicago jazz artists and touring musicians.  This semi-upscale venue hosts live shows throughout the week, and serves up a large menu of Italian-American food if you want to stay for dinner.  This club is located at 11 E. Hubbard Street in Chicago.

Dance Clubs in Chicago, Illinois

The Windy City is famous for its diverse nightclubs and nonstop dance scene, so there's no shortage of places to enjoy some hip-hop, R&B, techno and other dance styles for the night.  Head to the Beaumont at 2020 N. Halstead Street for a high-energy atmosphere, pool tables and a hip, urban crowd.  The spacious dance club is a popular pick by the locals, and the DJ lineup is never boring.

Club 720 features a cabaret lounge on the first floor, a pool and games area on the second floor, and a large dance floor on the third floor.  There's always a great show on at this popular venue, and you'll find a diverse, eclectic crowd on any given night.  The club is located at 720 N. Wells Street.

Sports Pubs in Chicago, Illinois

If you want to watch a Cubs game or cheer on your favorite football team, you'll find a number of sports bars and pubs along the lakefront.  Head to Sluggers World Class Sports for your baseball fix; it's a popular venue for pre and postgame revelries, and also features Dueling Pianos every Friday and Saturday night.

When you're in the mood for an Irish night, head to Butch McGuires on 20 W. Division Street; the tavern has become famous for its Bloody Mary's and happy hour specials, and it's one of the few pubs in town to  offer $4 pints of all your Irish favorites throughout the week.
